If you're at the beginning of your career, or you're about to start writing your first screenplay, this is a great book to get you going!

What's even more enticing is that you can read and understand it in a couple of hours, or less -- about the time it takes you to sit through your top choice at the local multiplex.

You're about to go on a creative journey, and this book is a basic road map.

You'll learn how to get original ideas -- not just copies of someone else's notions.

You'll learn how to get your good ideas out of your head and into your computer.

You'll find out how to source powerful psychological and emotional ideas for your characters and themes.

You'll discover the most efficient, professional ways to build your story, and your script.

I show you how to energize your ideas, how to tell which ideas are good movie ideas, and where to look for elements that make winning movie scripts.

I expose the secret of the powerful principle of mendacity in movie characters and plot, and I show you examples of how to use it in your own screen-play.

Of course, there are skills you need to learn and use -- formatting, scene structure, dialogue, and writing good narrative prose, for example. But you'll never have the chance to learn them if you don't GET STARTED ON YOUR SCREEN-PLAY NOW.

Chapter 6 ...Chapter 9

During my career as a writer/producer, I read thousands of scripts by established and developing writers. Some of them succeeded in going into production, but--

90% or more of the ones that were not produced had no chance to begin with.

Why?
Because they suffered from flaws in their stories.

Imagine how you'd feel as a writer if youcould avoid that trap. Think of how your confidence would soar!

Now, a screenplay development service
that makes sense

You've knocked yourself out writing your screenplay.
And you think it's a movie people will want to see.

If it gets produced and distributed.

You also know that it's fiercely competitive out there.
Buyers and agents and distributors are picky. Very picky.

Before you send it out (again?) you'd like to know that
your screenplay is as compelling, original, and as
skilfully written as you can possibly make it.

Maybe you've surfed the Internet for reading services,
analysis services, development services, and sample
studio coverage.

And you've dropped down off the wave feeling ambivalent, overchoiced, or confused.

Let's talk straight here. There are a number of bright,
capable, professionals offering help to writers (for a fee)
over the Internet.

You're looking for one that fits your needs and personal
style.
Maybe you only need "coverage" or a critical
analysis. You'd prefer to hear the negatives and
carry on from there.

There are many professionals on the net who can do that.

On the other hand, maybe you don't want to
hear (again?) what's "wrong" with your screenplay.

You'd like to hear how it can be improved.

On the Internet you can find skilled professionals
who offer this type of assistance.

When you're searching, do yourself a favor and check
to see whether the analyst has actually written
screenplays that have been produced.

A professional who has been through it all a number
of times will understand your situation and your needs
better, will be more sympathetic, and will be more
likely to offer advice that is useful and effective.

Please see the "About Barry Pearson"
page to examine my credentials.
